Selectmen Ratify PILOT Agreement With Great River Hydro
misc · Meeting of January 7, 2026
NH MONROE — Monroe Selectmen ratify PILOT agreement with Great River Hydro. Utility Assessor George Sansoucy presented the accord, noting that Monroe ranks first in New Hampshire for utility property values at 74 percent utilities, with transmission line valuations now exceeding dam values statewide. The agreement locks Great River Hydro into foregoing State Education tax, which changes in 2028, until the PILOT expires.
Selectman Justin Bradshaw recused due to employment conflict; the vote passed unanimously among the two voting members. Town residents requested formation of a committee for future PILOT renegotiations.
