Selectmen deny building permit over setback violations

misc · Meeting of August 19, 2026

NH MONROE — Monroe Selectmen deny deck permit on setback grounds. The three-member Board of Selectmen — Oren Remick, Brandon Millett, and Scott Powers — denied a residential building permit for failing setback requirements on two property sides; the applicant will pursue a variance. The board also rescheduled paving work on Smutty Hollow and Lang Road for November pre-bid and January bidding, with completion targeted between April and September 2026.

Additional priorities include Town Hall paving work and improved signage during highway construction.
